From October 16 to 20, 2024, the international book industry will meet at the 76th Frankfurter Buchmesse. Under the motto "FBM24 is Read!ng - Read. Reflect. Relate.", visitorscan expect a diverse program for literature enthusiasts and representatives from culture, politics and business.
One highlight is the new New Adult Area in Hall 1.2. and the area for mangas, comics and cosplay. The book fair also offers space for socio-political discussions, such as in the new "Frankfurt Calling" series, and promotes exchange between publishers, film and games producers.
Another highlight for young visitors is the Frankfurt Kids Festival. Here, children can get up close and personal with authors such as Paul Maar and Ursula Poznanski. In addition, the Hörbuchwelten Bühne presents popular speakers and podcasters, while influencers and TV stars such as Thomas Gottschalk perform on the Open Stage.
Italy, the Guest of Honor country, is bringing over 90 authors with it, including well-known names such as Alessandro Baricco. At the end of the book fair, TikTok will present the TikTok Book Awards for the second time, celebrating the #BookTok community and its creators.
