Firecracker and Co.: beautiful prospects for New Year's Eve

Nothing is worse than when it puffs, bangs and clatters and we see nothing. So when the fondue has been polished off, Miss Sophie has toasted Admiral von Schneider for the last time and the countdown to the end of the year begins, many of us want to watch the wild goings-on or take up the pyrotechnics ourselves. After all, the beauty of Frankfurt is that it takes us so high up: whether it's to nature or architecture. There are countless places that give us a fabulous view of the firecrackers and fireworks on New Year's Eve. However, people with claustrophobia should think twice about their choice. In front of the Alte Oper, the firecrackers fly around just as wildly without regard for losses and people as they do on the banks of the Main. So pack strong nerves as well as champagne and glasses! :-)

1. In many skyscrapers is always good to celebrate at the end of the year. Here's the <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de insidefrankfurt s shopping der-silvesterknaller-ueber-den-daechern-feiern.html _blank>Overview from 2014. <link http: www.flemings-hotels.com hotels-residences frankfurt flemings-deluxe-hotel-frankfurt-city hotel-zimmer.html _blank>Fleming's Hotel is one of my personal favorites, not least because of its cool paternoster!

2. Climb to the roof! Ever researched whether your own house has a walkable roof, or at least an acceptable skylight? Nothing is better than toasting the New Year with all the party guests and the champagne in slippers.

3. Bridge Love: Rammelvoll are the bridges in Frankfurt always when there is something special to celebrate. I'm relieved that the city takes care of the renewal, so that they can stand something :-) Most recently experienced at the unity celebration. So remember to show up in time at the Iron Bridge or the Holbein Bridge! Even if we are experiencing southern European spring right now: Waiting takes time. So dress warmly. Calmer crossings can be found in Niederrad with the railway bridge and eastwards with the Deutschherrenbrücke and the Osthafenbrücke.

4. The Main embankment in general. Our classic, loved by all. If you party at Restaurant Nizza, you'll have a front-row ticket anyway. From the Sachsenhäuser Ufer at the height of the Peterskirche, the view of the Schöne Aussicht is the most beautiful. Show up in time here as well. Plan on parking in the 2nd row as well as a lot of crowds.

5. If the view is good, the <link http: www.feldberghof.com _blank>Feldberg im Taunus is of course quite a fine sight, providing goosebump moments with its darkness just like the Lohrberg.
