It's Christmas already so much. Anyway, the tree is at the Römer. And shock, what can I say? I have nothing to find fault with it. At this point, please imagine the corresponding emoji. More than 4,200 LED lights and the red bows make this year but also properly what her..
Only, where do we come, if in Frankfurt no one more nagging at the tree? Such a cherished tradition. But I'm counting on you guys to bail me out!!! How else am I supposed to get into the Christmas spirit???
· Alright, I've already tentatively tackled the <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de insidefrankfurt s shopping schoener-schenken-oh-schreck-schon-wieder-weihnachten.html _blank>Question of gifts.
· Then this week, thanks to the dedicated hubby, the Advent wreath sparkles on the table.
· And I've only dated at the Christmas market.
<link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de veranstaltungen eventcat weihnachtsmaerkte.html _blank>Frankfurt has a good and cosy selection of Christmas markets. The market in the city centre attracts more than three million visitors (2016), according to the city's tourism department.
Not surprising, if you ask me, given the traditional ambience, especially in the evenings at the Römer. The local market is one of the largest and oldest in Germany since its foundation in the 14th century!!!
Netheless, one or the other may get the idea to rather visit one of the many markets in the city districts.
These often take place only on weekends, as for example here in Bornheim on the square of the weekly market. But it has the advantage that I meet familiar faces that I haven't met for a long time and we can have a chat.
(Of course, it can also be that I would rather not meet some people, hehe. Then it's a matter of cleverly hiding the nose in the chocolate with cream.)
THE CHRISTMAS MAN IS FINN
The weather has been reasonably kind to us and provides temperatures that suit the mulled wine. The colder the better, I think.
Therefore, this year I want to explore the Finnish Christmas Bazaar, where salmon is cooked on an open fire and Nordic mulled wine is enjoyed on the side. Don't miss: The lappish Santa Claus, who - as befits Frankfurt - can take wishes bilingually: Finnish and German.
· Contemplation and peace - when, if not in the pre-Christmas season, should I take time for that? Whereas there is often rather much more stress and hustle and bustle next to work, because of all the celebrations and preparations. Nevertheless, I have made it a ritual to stop in the <link http: www.liebfrauen.net _blank>inner courtyard of the Liebfrauenkirche when I am in the city centre.
How do you experience the pre-Christmas season? Which market is your favorite?
