"Full throttle summer," it is currently oracular from Offenbach. With temperatures above 30 degrees, we 1. wonder where to go to relax and then 2. think life is a beach when we can sort the sand with our toes or watch the grass grow. While the kids are jumping around on the lawn playing beach volleyball, we want to hang out in the lounge chair. Since our neighbors to the east have been claiming that Offenbach is by the sea for quite some time, we took a look at the beach bars along the Main this week and here are our three favorites. All are characterized by their direct location on the river and are therefore excellent to reach, especially by bike.

The "<link https: www.facebook.com mainbars _blank>Mainbar" provides with their bright colors in turquoise, pink and yellow immediately for Hawaiian "Aloha feeling" . A wide layout with sand, volleyball net and a play area appeals to adults, who can bask in beach chairs and sip sodas while kids run wild next door.

Cool minimalism is offered by the accompanying "<link http: www.mainturm.de _blank>Mainturm" : the kiosk with food and drink in a red-and-white striped light tower can be spotted from afar. Anyone who likes can sit down in one of the beach chairs on the lawn, which are striped in the same colours, and listen to the Main ripple by. It doesn't get much more meditative than this at the Offenbach Bürgel landing stage.

benches and parasols create a beer garden atmosphere in front of the <link https: www.facebook.com pages bembelboot _blank>Bembel boat. The guitarist on the anchored barge provides a slightly alternative-rock mood. The green space office of the city of Frankfurt denied the ship operators the mooring at the Weseler Werft, the Offenbachers were happy about it. I'm sure the Frankfurt city officials had only our best interests in mind and wanted to motivate us to cycle. The people of Offenbach recognized the good opportunity to make the offer at their section of the Main even more attractive and the ship operators were quite amazed about the positive reception by our neighbours. If something breaks down in the Bödtsche, such as the oil pump, and the mooring should be delayed, current information on this can be found <link https: www.facebook.com pages bembelboot _blank>on Facebook. Hessian specialties such as Handkäs, apple wine and green sauce are of course on the menu. So it's worth the trip!
