Now Frankfurt will be capital after all or: Where to find women
Now Frankfurt will be capital after all or: Where to find women

Women are everywhere in the city: and typical Frankfurt, they come from all over the world. The special thing about them - they make art as well as music and very successfully at the "Women of the World Festival". Ulrike Folkerts, Tatort fans certainly well known, was there last week with a reading, the Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald rocked the Alte Oper to kick off the festival on Wednesday evening and gave the enthusiastic fans at the end of the concert still the giant hit " A Night like This".

Since 2012, the organizers entertain the Frankfurt / for the fourth time; and still have a lot of plans as Bernd Hoffmann - from the Bad Homburg Poetry Festival - yesterday evening at the welcome in the Alte Oper next to the integration department Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg announced. The festival is to become an inner-city experience and aims to combine the charm of Germany's most cosmopolitan city with the beauty of female music. Bernd Hoffmann also revealed an idea for the future: he has a kind of "Berlinale" in mind, but not only with music, but also with fashion and art, Frankfurt should become the "capital of women".

I am sure that our Main city would be the perfect place for that. With such great women like the actress Hannelore Elsner or the writer Eva Demski, whose book "Frankfurt is different" I'm reading right now. Very understandable her annoyed eye roll when she reveals Frankfurt as her place of residence and is looked at pityingly by Munich people.

And there is? The sadly deceased pyschoanalyst Margarethe Mitscherlich, who practiced in her Westend apartment until old age. Or the artist Hanna Becker vom Rath. Never heard of them? Then it's high time you took a look at the expressionist "Blue House" of the founder of the Frankfurt Kunstkabinett in Hofheim, which was a popular meeting place for artists during her lifetime. So Künstlertreff Frankfurt, yesterday, today, and if the festival organizers have their way, tomorrow too!
