A Cooking and Reading Book

There are many ways to approach culinary Frankfurt. For example, it is possible to focus entirely on typical Frankfurt specialties. Or you can celebrate the cultural diversity of the Main metropolis, which is also reflected in the culinary sector in a pleasant and extremely tasty way. The book "Frankfurter Küchen - Rezepte aus zwölf Lieblingsrestaurants" uses exactly this approach. The two journalists Christian Sälzer and Nina Schellhase, together with chefs from twelve selected restaurants in the city, have put together a work that is much more than a mere collection of recipes. Twelve kitchens, as they could not be more different, their philosophies and their most beautiful recipes make the book a very special pleasure - for the eye and the palate.

Represented are the Alexis Sorbas from Niederrad, the Bockenheimer Andalucia, Blumen from the Nordend, the Esszimmer in the Westend, the Sachsenhäuser Feurrädchen, the Größenwahn in the Nordend, the Indigo from the Bahnhofsviertel, the Rödelheimer La Fenice, Maasachanz from Sachsenhausen, the Nr. 16 from Bornheim, Rama V from the city centre and Schandis from the Nordend. Filled with pictures from these restaurants, stories about culinary Frankfurt and very appealing photos of the selected recipes, the book manages to transport a touch of the flair and charm of the respective restaurants into the readers' own four walls. Great praise is therefore due not only to the authors of the texts, but also to the photographer Michael Hudler and all others who have worked on the book.

Among the more than 100 recipes are the TSIPOURA (gilthead sea bream with olive-lemon marinade on Mediterranean vegetables) from the Alexis Sorbas, the GAMBAS AL AJILLO (prawns in garlic) from the Andalucia (one of the most delicious starters in all of Frankfurt!), the BIG POTATO CLOSS WITH LIVER Sausage FILLED WITH SAUERKRAUT from the Feuerrädchen or the mango cream MALAI AM from the Indigo. It is this diversity that makes the book, which is not without reason among the winners of the GOURMAND World Cookbook Awards.

Whoever wants to make a very special culinary tour of Frankfurt and then continue it at home, simply can not miss this very lovingly and attractively designed book! Not only for Frankfurters a real recommendation!
