Content: Former professional baseball player Charlie Goodson (Charlie Sheen) has found a new calling as a psychotherapist. And it seems to be bearing real fruit. After all, he and his support group are celebrating a full thirty days without tantrums. They plan to celebrate with a trip to Lake Tahoe together. Too bad Charlie's own peace of mind is put to the test at the airport. And then he gets a call from Kate (Selma Blair), who finally seems ready for a relationship. Charlie needs to get back to L.A. as soon as possible - but it's not that easy.

After the failed trip, however, the chaos really begins: Charlie gets involved in an affair with hot IT expert Monica and soon has to deal with her jealous ex. The group plays a prank on Ed (Barry Corbin), making him think he's won millions in the lottery - with unforeseen consequences. Charlie's ex-wife Jennifer (Shawnee Smith) asks him to include her new boyfriend Sean (Brian Austin Green) in his support group, and Lacey (Noureen DeWulf) tries to medicate her nervousness before her first stint as a pharmaceutical rep - not a good idea. And Charlie's father (Martin Sheen) is always making sure that life in the Goodson house is never boring either...

After his scandalous exit from the hit series Two and a Half Men and some memorable media appearances, Charlie Sheen tried to pick up where he left off with Anger Management. Since he repeatedly made fun of his own image in a self-deprecating way, especially in the first episodes, it seemed to work well. But it quickly became apparent that Sheen's new series ultimately offered nothing more than very conventional and often interchangeable sitcom fare. A few raunchy gags or brief excursions to the edge of political correctness are very entertaining, but not enough to make the series stand out from the crowd of similar comedy fare.

That's the case again with the new episodes of the third season. There are always some really good laughs, but only a few gags really stick in the mind for a long time. Compared to previous episodes, however, the members of Charlie's support group become more and more interesting and their storylines more and more amusing. Although hardly any punchline can surprise and the humor is not exactly in the upper level spheres, the sympathetic ensemble ensures that the series is not boring for a second and offers lovers of simple sitcom fare a lot of fun entertainment. And that's enough despite some flat gags then in the end for a clear: Recommended!

Picture + Sound: In terms of image and sound quality has not changed compared to the first two seasons: The picture is absolutely clean, the colors powerfully mixed and the image sharpness is in most moments on a very good level. The sound, which is available in a decent Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, transports the dialogue well understandable from the speakers. However, there is not much movement in the surround area, which is not surprising for a sitcom. Overall, the technical realization of the series on DVD is more than satisfactory for a current TV sitcom. Good!

Extras: As a bonus, there are a few amusing outtakes (about 5 min.) on the third DVD. More has this season unfortunately not in the offer!

Conclusion: Anger Management offers again in the third season conventional, but quite amusing sitcom fare, which lives from the self-deprecating handling of the image of Charlie Sheen, but more and more also from the good interaction of the other characters. Even if most of the jokes are very predictable and there are no real surprises dramaturgically, the series offers all fans of Charlie Sheen really good, entertaining entertainment. On DVD, the series presents itself in good picture and sound quality, only the bonus material is quite meager with a few outtakes. Overall, however, there is for the sitcom a clear: Recommendable!
