Everything you need to know
Now the time has finally come: the streaming service DISNEY + also launches in Germany. For 6,99 € in the months or 69,99 € in the year, users now have access to over 500 movies, more than 350 series and 25 exclusive Disney+ Originals, as well as thousands of TV episodes from 5 worlds: Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic. There's not much new there (yet), but the huge archive of Disney classics alone makes booking this streaming service worthwhile. Especially in times of the Corona crisis, the many offerings provide much-needed distraction - and not just for the little ones.
In order to ensure the smooth functioning of the broadband infrastructure in the current situation with the increased consumer demand caused by Disney+, the streaming service will reduce the usage of the total bandwidth by at least 25% at launch. Other providers such as Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube have already gone down this route without any noticeable impact on playback quality.
For STAR WARS fans in particular, the launch of Disney + has been eagerly awaited, with the streaming service offering a very special highlight in the form of Jon Favreau's series "The Mandalorian". At launch, the first two episodes are available, with episode 3 to follow on Friday. The remaining episodes will then be released in a weekly rhythm. But the new season of "The Clone Wars" should also make the hearts of many STAR WARS fans beat faster.
But the adventures from a galaxy far, far away are of course not the only reason why Disney + is worthwhile. Whether it's "Bambi," "Fantasia," "Arielle," "The Lion King," "101 Dalmatians," "Aladdin" - there's really no cartoon or live-action classic missing from the bulging Disney archive here. And there's a little bit of new material with the live-action adaptation of "Lady and the Tramp," the series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series," "Encore!" (from executive producer Kristen Bell), "Diary of a Future President" and the docu-series "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" as well. More new fodder will be coming in the future, of course.
Disney+ is also the new streaming home of the cult animated series "The Simpsons," with 30 seasons and more than 600 episodes available in one fell swoop for the first time. Season 31 will be available later this year.
Stream anywhere, anytime
Subscribers to Disney+ can use the streaming service on nearly all popular mobile devices and Internet-connected TVs, including game consoles and smart TVs. Up to four devices can be used simultaneously. In addition, unlimited downloads of content, personalized recommendations and the creation of up to seven personalized profiles are possible. Especially important for parents: you can create special children's profiles that are easy to use and offer child-friendly content - even if Disney + is limited to more family-friendly content anyway.

Following the launch of Disney+ in the first European countries, France is next on 7. April, and more Western European countries, including Belgium, Scandinavia and Portugal, in summer 2020.
