Tischa "The Tigress" Thomas has a clear goal: she wants to get the title as the best bodybuilder in the world. With her 17-inch biceps and enormous back muscles, you'd never guess the transformation of the once grossly overweight mother of three. Tischa is a strong yet highly sensitive person who battles self-doubt and societal discrimination and longs to be accepted by others for her own sake.
She earns her keep as a dominatrix, her most important partner being her 70-year-old roommate Eddie, who supports her at competitions. But when she falls short of her dream of winning the title, a world comes crashing down for Tischa - and suddenly the question arises: is she ready for a life beyond the competition stages?
I AM THE TIGRESS celebrated its German premiere at the 2021 Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival.
Before the film starts nationwide in theaters on April 14, the Hesse premiere will take place on April 12 at 20:15 in the Harmonie Kino in Sachenhausen. Present will be the director Philipp Fussenegger and the protagonist Tischa Thomas. The premiere will be moderated by Frankfurt actress Ariana Gansuh and Dimitrios Charistes from Arthouse Kinos Frankfurt.
