Just in time for Halloween, Sky Deutschland launches Germany's first horror series starring Charly Hübner. With a visual and narrative power, the series HAUSEN combines horror elements and drama to create a mysterious emotional chamber play in a possessed prefab building, the likes of which have never been seen before on German television.
To get fans of top-notch horror stories in the mood for HAUSEN, Sky, Lago Film and AV Visionen will show episode 1& 2 nationwide from 22. October exclusively in advance in over 120 cinemas - including CineStar Metropolis and Kinopolis in the MTZ.
About the content:
After the death of his mother, 16-year-old Juri (Tristan Göbel) and his father Jaschek (Charly Hübner) move into a run-down prefab building on the outskirts of the city. While Jaschek tries to build a new existence for himself and his son as caretaker of the dilapidated building, Juri gradually discovers that the house has a malevolent life of its own and feeds on the suffering of its inhabitants.
To fight it, Juri must get the sometimes hostile, sometimes apathetic block population to cooperate - and rebel against his father, who is increasingly under the house's spell.
"We are very pleased to also be able to present "HAUSEN" in the cinema in October. The series thus takes place in the place where the genre actually originated - in the cinema! With a top-class cast, an impressive set in every respect and a wonderful crew, the "HAUSEN" world came to life under Thomas Stuber's direction. To be able to experience this world, which confronts us with the most diverse forms of fear, pain and love, on the big screen will definitely be a very special experience for the audience." (Quirin Schmidt, Executive Producer Sky)
"HAUSEN is a unique, multi-layered series that appeals not only to horror fans. Its high atmospheric density, top-notch cast, and stunning visual concept captivate from the very first second. Series of this caliber belong on the big screen, where big emotions are at home. We are delighted that Sky shares this vision and is joining us on this journey." (Jens-Uwe Welge, Vice President AV Visions)
The Sky Original HAUSEN is a "haunted house" series that combines horror, mystery, dark fairy tale and drama. The eight episodes were directed by Thomas Stuber for Lago Film, commissioned by Sky Germany. Marco Mehlitz (Lago Film) is producer executive producer on the part of Sky is Quirin Schmidt. The story (created & story by Till Kleinert and Anna Stoeva) stars Charly Hübner, Lilith Stangenberg, Alexander Scheer, Tristan Göbel, Daniel Sträßer and Constanze Becker.
"For the production of HAUSEN we were able to retreat for many months into an empty hospital of the former GDR apparatus and create a world that on the one hand really existed - before our eyes - and on the other hand is a complete art dummy, because ultimately every square millimeter was designed by our team. What remains is HAUSEN - a story that slowly penetrates the viewer's mind and makes us all aware of what can happen when we lose empathy." (Marco Mehlitz, producer, Lago Film)
Directing the eight-part "Haunted House" horror series is Thomas Stuber ("In the Hallways"). In front of the camera are among others Charly Hübner (Lindenberg! Do your thing), Tristan Göbel (Tschick), Lilith Stangenberg (The State against Fritz Bauer), Alexander Scheer (Gunderman). The eight episodes will be broadcast from 29 October to 01 November as double episodes on Sky Atlantic.
All fans of the genre have the opportunity to experience the first two episodes on the big screen in cinemas nationwide one week before the TV start.
Tickets are available now at over 100 select theaters.
