From November 18 to December 23, 2024, the Christmas market in Darmstadt city center opens its doors.
Culinary and artisan offerings invite visitors to linger and enjoy the Christmas market in Darmstadt's city center. The festively decorated city center with Christmas trees on Marktplatz, Luisenplatz and Ludwigsplatz creates a festive atmosphere.
A special highlight are the stalls of Darmstadt's twin cities. Whether Hungarian lángos or wine and cheese from Saanen (Switzerland) - the offerings are appreciated by locals and visitors alike.
The Darmstadt Christmas lights impress with the "Langen Ludwig", which shines with 30,000 LEDs. The Christmas tree on the market square offers an hourly light animation from 6 pm, and a historic horse-drawn carousel attracts visitors to Friedensplatz. Opening Monday, 18.11., 18.3 pm
Opening of the Christmas market with Lord Mayor Hanno Benz, City Treasurer André Schellenberg, the Darmstadt Showmen's Association and the Mulled Wine Princess.
Musical entertainment by the children's choir of the Staatstheater Darmstadt and Mika Setzer.

HddM - Media quiz at the Darmstadt Christmas market: Spin the (quiz) wheel and test your knowledge! You can expect questions about cell phones, social media, AI & Co. - and of course prizes with a surprise effect.

Visit from Santa Claus
Friday, 6.12., from 4 pm
Santa Claus is on his carriage with the children's punch princess in the city center and visits the Christmas market. Together they hand out chocolate Santa Clauses and enjoy a little song or poem.
Final evening 23.12., 7 to 9 pm:

- On 6.12. from approx. 4 p.m. with St. Nicholas in the city center and at the Christmas market.
- On Advent Saturdays in the afternoon in the Luisencenter and at the Christmas market.
