Every year on the 3rd weekend in July, the whole of Geisenheim celebrates its over 700-year-old linden tree with a big colorful festival. From Friday to Monday, visitors are offered a varied program on several stages. The lime tree festival will be celebrated at a total of four places: there is the wine experience village in front of the town hall and with the large stage directly at the lime tree, hot party is announced in "DomTown" on the Bischof-Blum-Platz with groovy music groups and on the Fronhof the children are the guests of honor. The creative mile along the Rhein- and Karl-Ehrhard-Straße connects the whole festival area. More than 20 arts and crafts stalls line up here.
The Lindenfestmacher have quite deliberately put the motto under "A festival for Geisenheimer of Geisenheimers", because the festival is not only celebrated with a lot of heart and soul, many Geisenheimer clubs, people and institutions such as kindergarten and school bring in here on the four festival days with fun. Not only in the audience are then four generations represented, also on the stage there are actors from two to 80 years. Young is the main attraction in the "DomTown" with live music, carnies and snacks on the cathedral square. The wine village around the lime tree offers above all also noble drops and tables and benches to linger and watch the show program on the lime tree stage, which is dominated by clubs.
The beautiful creative mile with the wonderful crafts market and the open weekend invites you to stroll convivially. For the children there is a Lindiade with its creative hands-on program. Local clubs and groups invite the children under the motto "make, participate and experience" on Sunday afternoon to this fun while playing in the small park at the Blaubach. And also the small fairground on the Fronhof is a magical attraction for the little festival guests.
