Gleaming lights in the shadow of the cathedral
The Mainz Christmas market shines against the historic backdrop of the 1000-year-old St. Martin's Cathedral with around 100 festively decorated stalls. There is also a varied stage program on Liebfrauenplatz.

Carousels and handmade toys make children's hearts beat faster on Liebfrauenplatz and the market. Meanwhile, visitors interested in arts and crafts will get their money's worth in the artists' workshop, where they can experience how Advent arrangements, porcelain paintings, fabric work and embroidery are created.
Particularly worth seeing
A large, brightly lit pyramid with figures from Mainz makes eyes light up right at the entrance to the Christmas market. The main entrance to the market also shines brightly here: glittering illuminated cones in a modern design welcome visitors to the market. Just a few steps further on, the hand-carved, life-size nativity figures in front of the Gotthard Chapel of St. Martin's Cathedral are sure to impress.
