The Advisory Council and the Office for Migration and Integration organize the annual Intercultural Week in September together with the migrant organizations in Mainz and initiatives active in migration work in Mainz.
The series of events is an important contribution to breaking down barriers between Germans and migrants. A highlight of the Intercultural Week is the Intercultural Festival around the cathedral, which is known beyond the city limits and gives all Mainzers an annual opportunity to celebrate, talk, laugh, inform themselves and learn more about each other beyond everyday encounters.
