The Palmengarten is extending the summer and invites you to the big Late Summer Festival from September 19 to 22. The focus will be on flowers, pollinators and the exciting interaction between humans and insects. Visitors can expect a colourful program full of activities, demonstrations and art on these days.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, 19 September with the dance performance "I don't hear Bugs in the City" by Anno Bolender, followed by an artist talk on the topic of "Urban lifestyles and biodiversity". The weekend also offers exciting experiences such as a Japanese paper theater about insect life, insect crafts, a performance by Circus Rambazotti and numerous guided tours.

A special highlight is the lantern parade on Saturday evening, September 21. The matching lanterns can be made on site. In addition to a children's carousel, face painting and plant sales, the festival also offers musical entertainment and many other activity stands.

Accompanying the festival is the art exhibition "Playful? - Roulette with the insect and plant world", which will be enriched with special works of art by Renate Reifert and Hama Lohrmann. On Saturday, artist Caro Krebietke will present her performance "Missing", a moving homage to lost insect species.
