Get to know the work of the Deutsche Bundesbank in a relaxed atmosphere

The Bundesbank headquarters in Frankfurt Bockenheim is currently being renovated - but the central bankers still want to open their doors again. Under the motto "Backstage Bundesbank", the Bundesbank is inviting citizens to the grounds of its headquarters in downtown Frankfurt on September 14 and 15, 2024. A varied program of information and entertainment awaits the guests there.

They can experience Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel and other members of the Executive Board during stage interviews, discuss topics such as inflation and monetary policy or existing and future means of payment with the Bundesbank's experts.

Virtual reality, gold bars & live music

Of course, guests will also have the opportunity to lift a gold bar this year. A virtual reality film will take interested visitors to secret places of the Bundesbank and monetary policy - including the Bundesbank's gold cellar and the meeting room at the very top of the European Central Bank building, where the central bankers of the eurozone make their monetary policy decisions.

In keeping with this year's motto "Backstage Bundesbank", a tour will also be offered. In the central administration building, which was completed in 1988, visitors can view the impressive postmodern architecture and successful art on the building.

Live bands such as the "Garage Band of the Bundesbank" or the "KingTwiins"will ensure a relaxed atmosphere. There will also be plenty of varied food and drink.

The event site is just a few minutes' walk from the Taunusanlage and Willy-Brand-Platz stops and from the main railway station. Please bring a valid photo ID and refrain from carrying large bags.
