"Being on stage is like a vacation for me! Your laughter is my paella pan, your applause my infinity pool! Unfortunately, real vacation is mostly hard work for that!" Well, that's how it is for Ralf Schmitz. Sometimes you have to interrupt the longest vacation in the world for a few weeks to work hard. For example, to gather inspiration for his latest stage program on a flight to New Zealand next to a group of drunken hobbits in rubber feet that smell like chemical accidents. But at least Mr. Schmitzen's crazy vacation experiences help us forget our tough week for a few hours, when the electrifying comedy whisk in his incomparable way a potpourri of absurd but recognizable characters, mini-sketches, improvised highlights and crass parodies conjures and thereby one merciless punch line strings to the next, until we empty laughed but wonderfully refreshed and inwardly tanned of our brilliant short trip to the end of human logic return to reality and say to us: "That was finally a welcome break in the merciless clockwork of time, just like back in school, heat-free." And that's exactly why Ralf's new program is called "Schmitzefrei!"
