Caricatura Museum Frankfurt
The Caricatura Museum Frankfurt presents "The Comic Art of Walter Moers", a comprehensive exhibition of the work of one of the most innovative artists on the German-language comic and literary scene. From Käpt'n Blaubär to das Kleine Arschloch and the fantastic worlds of Zamonien - Moers' universe is full of scurrility, black humor and masterful illustrations.
The exhibition shows numerous original drawings, unpublished sketches and works from the Zamonia novels as well as the Graphic Novels for the "City of Dreaming Books". In addition to his legendary comics and works for the satirical magazine Titanic, Moers' art-historical parodies such as "Asshole in Oil" will also be presented. The show is complemented by short animated films and sculptures of his iconic characters.
A special highlight: the second floor features works by American artist Edward Gorey - a tribute to the "Grand Master of the Curious", whose 100th birthday was celebrated in 2024.
The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Ludwiggalerie Schloss Oberhausen.
