The Frankfurt Chinafest returns to the Roßmarkt from August 2 to 4, this time under the motto "Green development, low-carbon living and sustainable future". Since its inception in 2019, the Chinafest has provided a platform for authentic performances, original Chinese food and open cultural exchange. It has become an annual highlight in Frankfurt's cultural calendar and attracts tens of thousands of participants.
The festival opens a window to China's diverse culture and offers a rich program of traditional and modern performances. Visitors can look forward to performances by artist groups from Guangdong and Hubei, including Chinese song, dance, dragon and lion dance as well as traditional opera. Culinary delicacies and a tea ceremony invite visitors to discover the diversity of Chinese flavors.
A special photo and video competition entitled "Chinese elements in my environment" motivates participants to capture their experiences and impressions of Chinese culture. The best entries will be awarded prizes and published.
This year, the focus is particularly on sustainability. In addition to the festival, other events such as an ESG award ceremony, an electric vehicle exhibition and an e-sports competition will be held throughout the year to promote sustainable solutions.
