From 9. November 2024 until mid-February, the Winter World at Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe in Mainz opens its doors once again. The Hofgut, picturesquely situated on the highest point of Mainz and surrounded by the vineyards of Rheinhessen, is the perfect place to enjoy the winter atmosphere. The view over the entire Rhine-Main region and the fresh air create a unique alpine feeling.
Vineyard hut and Christmas offers
After an active day on the ice or an alpaca hike, visitors can relax in the cozy Weinbergshütte . Special menus are offered there until Christmas: these include the traditional goose dinner, fondue evenings and the Advent brunch. Even on public holidays - on Christmas Day and Boxing Day - there is the opportunity to enjoy the view and the winter ambience over a festive brunch.
The highest ice rink in Rhine-Main
A highlight of the Winter World is the 500 square meter Panorama ice rink, the highest outdoor ice rink in the region. Families, friends and all ice skating fans can do their laps here from Tuesday to Friday from 2 pm and at weekends from 11 am. Every Saturday from 6 pm, the ice disco with the latest après-ski hits and lighting effects creates a very special atmosphere and transforms the ice into a dance floor. The prices at the ice rink are family-friendly: children up to the age of 12 pay 4 euros, adults 5 euros. If you don't bring your own skates, you can hire them on site for 6 euros.
Comfortable winter activities and winter enjoyment
In addition to the ice rink, there is also the opportunity to enjoy the Curling . There are four rinks available for groups and families, which can be booked by the hour. One hour costs 50 euros, plus a deposit of the same amount.
For nature lovers, there is a special attraction: the Alpaca hike. The farm's friendly alpacas accompany visitors on an approximately one-hour walk through the vineyards. The price for this special hike starts at 40 euros for one or two people (including mulled wine or punch).
