Hochheim am Main is preparing with great anticipation for the 537th Hochheim Market, one of the largest folk festivals in the Rhine-Main region. The enthusiasm is palpable among the organizers, the city of Hochheim and the citizens.
For more than five centuries, Hochheim has celebrated the traditional and now the largest autumn market in the center of Germany. From November 3 to 7, it will once again bring together young and old from the entire Rhine-Main region and far beyond.
The market offers a wide range of attractions: a farmers' market, mobile home and vehicle exhibitions, a fair tent, a livestock market, high-tech and family rides in the amusement park, daily live music acts, numerous drink and food stalls, and a large historical market section.
The "Sun Wheel" Ferris Wheel, in the center of the event area, will kick off the opening ceremonies at 12:00 noon on Market Friday.
A total of about 600 businesses will be represented on the 70,000-square-meter site during the five days of the event, including Krammarkt merchants, snack stands, wine and beverage stands and fairground businesses. The fair tent and outdoor exhibition area will feature products for the home, home and garden, health and fitness items and household appliances.
The livestock market will feature three days of programs, including horse shows, Germany's largest Galloway beef cattle show and the traditional livestock market.
Visitors can also take advantage of the Mainova Viehmarkt Express, a "bell train," to shuttle between the market and livestock market grounds.
As a special highlight, the market offers the world's highest mobile looping carousel, the giant swing "Infinity," the funhouse "Aquavelis" and the "Break Dancer."In addition, a roller coaster, the "Wild Mouse," returns after many years.
Market Tuesday is especially family-friendly with special offers on rides, food booths and candy stands.
Hochheim vintners offer a rich selection of Hochheim wine and sparkling wine at their booths, including the popular Glühwein.
An extensive security concept ensures the safety of all participants and visitors, and considerable efforts have been made to minimize potential safety risks.
The Hochheim market ends with a large market fireworks display on Monday evening.
A detailed market program is available at all entrances to the event area.
