Musical club tribute to "50 years of moon landing"
Great events cast their shadows ahead: on June 7, 8 and 9, 2019, the Main metropolis Frankfurt will once again offer all fans of electronic club music the party of the year in the biggest club in the world. In and around the Commerzbank Arena, there will be three days of partying for all it's worth on an area of around 700,000 square metres - and with some particularly high-calibre guests. Nobody could have imagined how big the WORLD CLUB DOME would become when it all started as a one-day event with 25,000 visitors. In the meantime, around 200,000 guests from more than 60 nations come to Frankfurt over three days to celebrate together peacefully and happily.
Each new edition is naturally intended to be even more spectacular and better than the year before. And that's also the case in 2019, when the BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME will be themed "Space Edition" - a venerable club homage to "50 years of moon landings". Thus, without further ado, Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena will become a giant space shuttle - with a replica Ariane rocket on the big Mainstage in front of around 50,000 guests.
A total of over 230 acts from all over the world will play on the three days of the event - and from all areas of electronic club music: from EDM to trance to trap - from hip-hop to hardstyle to electro-pop - from goa to minimal to house. On more than 25 stages, the big names of the club scene will show how they cast a musical spell over the masses and inspire them. Absolute superstar DJs such as trance pioneer Armin van Buuren from the Netherlands, hit machine David Guetta from France, the shooting star from the underground: HUGEL ("Bella Ciao"), and the Frankfurt techno legend Sven Väth. Also chart-topper Jason Derulo from the USA, who has sold almost 60 million records worldwide, will be there and play a live concert. Under the open sky! As will the band Clean Bandit, whose hit "Rockabye" has been streamed more than two billion times on YouTube and is playing up and down on the radio. In addition, Steve Aoki, arguably the world's most famous DJ cake-thrower, will present a project brought to life by BigCityBeats: a collaboration with hip-hop legend Timbaland. An exclusive world premiere!
Another highlight: as part of the WCD Pool Sessions, the VIP Summer Residence will be created - a high-class area on the large open-air grounds, on the edge of the WCD Pool Sessions main stage. This is where the celebrities arrive after landing on the red carpet by BigCityBeats helicopter, being chauffeured there by Rolls Royce, Lamborghini or McLaren, then strolling along the feudal Walk of Fame "in the company" of flamethrowers and torches, signing autographs, taking a few selfies with fans and being given a dignified welcome at VIP check-in by the specially hired security. But the stars of show & entertainment, politics & business and culture & entertainment can't just enjoy outdoor champagne and other treats and be immersed in the fabulous world of Food & drinks & music, but also indoors - in the VIP areas of the Commerzbank Arena, with a perfect view of the main stage.
The indoor Mainstage, which offers space for around 50,000 guests, is the heart of the festival. A huge stage is created - the replica of the Ariane rocket. Plus: one of the biggest laser shows in Europe. 2,000 moving lights, hundreds of flamethrowers, strobes and a total of almost 1,500 square meters of LED surfaces provide a picture-perfect backdrop to the sound of the world's biggest and most successful DJs - by means of a 1.8 million watt music system.
Clubbers can look forward to a groundbreaking and unprecedented opening and closing show. On Friday, June 7, 2019, the Mainstage will become the "Spaceship into Past, Present & Future" with a replica of the Ariane rocket on stage. Together with the two ESA astronauts Matthias Maurer and André Kuipers, guests will experience a journey back in time - with the top 10 events in space history. While also depicting and showcasing the present, they also look to the future. It will be told with powerful images and sound, framed by a sensational light, laser and sound show.
From the stars of space to the stars of the music circus: MTV European Music Awards winner Marshmello, for example, will play the crowning finale on Friday. A few hours earlier, BigCityBeats resident DJ Le Shuuk will be on the big stage. The Stuttgart native, who set a worldwide record in March by becoming the first DJ ever to premiere his new single in zero gravity at BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME Zero Gravity. The absolute highlight on Saturday is expected to be the performance of US-American Steve Aoki, who together with hip-hop legend Timbaland will present the joint project that will make headlines around the world. The trumpeting DJ from Australia - Timmy Trumpet - won't miss the chance to be there either. His trademark: During the performance he combines his DJ skills with trumpet interludes. Internationally known is also Robin Schulz, who produced his first hit in his 45 square meter small apartment before the beginning of his worldwide career - the remix to "Waves". Also present is chart producer and DJ superstar David Guetta, whose productions permanently storm the top of the international charts. Arguably the hottest DJ duo in the world Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike expand the circle of global players.
NEW IN 2019: THE MAINSTAGE OUTDOOR
The Skyline Stage, in the summer of 2018: it was bursting at the seams. Not enough space to dance. Ergo, this year there is more legroom on a new floor. More space also for an even more bombastic line-up. Up to 15.000 party guests celebrate to acts like Jason Derulo, Clean Bandit, HUGEL and Lost Frequencies. A spectacular stage show underlines the sound that internationally renowned bands and top acts from all genres of club music present. No matter if Electro or Trap - no matter if Hip-Hop or Future Bass - no matter if Deep House, Dubstep or Dancepop - on the Mainstage Outdoor there are no genre borders. Among others, Sam Feldt - who is considered the inventor of the so-called Tropical House and celebrated his breakthrough with the catchy tune "Show Me Love" - will be there. Also the German veterans of Tech House and Deep House - Gestört aber GeiL - may not be missing. Future House, for example, is represented by chart-topper Zonderling, while David Guetta's tour support act - LOVRA - brings the 80s and 90s stylistically reworked into the new millennium with their sound. But rap has also always been part of club music. And so a warm welcome goes out to the Berlin rapper Capital Bra. He has the record of twelve number 1 hits in the German charts within one year.
Of course, these are just a few of the highlights that await you on three days of BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME. All further info and the complete line-up can be found at: www.worldclubdome.com
