This year, for the 10th time already, it's time to clear the ring for the "Great Christmas Circus Frankfurt" on the Festplatz am Ratsweg. With almost 50,000 visitors, the event has become an integral part of Frankfurt's calendar of events and has developed into a cultural highlight of the Christmas season. This year, for the fifth time, the Circus would like to thank the city of Frankfurt with a very special charity campaign. Under the motto "Christmas Eve at the Great Circus", the circus is inviting 100 needy Frankfurt families to its 2 p.m. performance on 24.12.2023. "Circus is still very popular with all children. But we also know that many Frankfurt families cannot afford to visit the Great Christmas Circus. With our charity campaign, we want to do something to help here and also make the eyes of children with whom fate has not been so kind shine," says Circus Director Manuel Wille, explaining his commitment. On December 5, the 500 free tickets were symbolically handed over to the board of Frankfurter Tafel e.V. by artists from the Great Christmas Circus in the Römer. Frankfurt's Lord Mayor Mike Josef was also present as patron of the campaign. Birgit Pangritz, the second chairwoman of the Tafel: "Many families use our Tafel offer and we are delighted that we can once again give these children a special treat with this offer." Frankfurt's Lord Mayor Mike Josef in turn emphasized: "This is a wonderful tradition for families with children, which I am happy to continue as patron. As a city, we need to do more to ensure that all families who want to can afford to visit the circus. Charity campaigns do not solve this problem, but they can at least give some families a few carefree hours during the Christmas season, so my heartfelt thanks for this wonderful idea." The Lord Mayor is taking this opportunity to draw attention to the fact that it is possible in Frankfurt to quickly and unbureaucratically organize free visits to over 35 municipal museums and Frankfurt Zoo for the vast majority of children and young people.
