With the opening of the Kimpton Main Frankfurt on 14 March 2025, Frankfurt will not only be further strengthened as an important business location, but also as a centre for culture, design and exceptional cuisine. The new luxury lifestyle hotel in the FOUR Frankfurt quarter is a prime example of contemporary architecture and pioneering design, which was developed under the creative direction of London-based architecture firm Waldo Works. The opening coincides with Frankfurt's nomination as "World Design Capital 2026" and the anniversary of "100 Years of New Frankfurt". At the centre of the building are not only unique design concepts, but also two outstanding gastronomic highlights: the brasserie restaurant ANNI, which has already opened, and the rooftop restaurant & Bar LAZULI, which will open its doors in April 2025.
Brasserie-Restaurant ANNI: A cosmopolitan meeting place in the heart of Frankfurt
The brasserie restaurant ANNI at the Kimpton Main Frankfurt delights with an elegant yet cosy atmosphere. Here, French brasserie tradition meets modern design, inspired by European grand cafés and classic New York restaurants. The interior designers from Waldo Works were inspired by the famous textile artist Anni Albers and designed the interior with black and white tiles, unique pendant lights and portraits of great personalities. This blend of European flair and cosmopolitan elegance makes ANNI a special place for Frankfurters and guests from all over the world. The restaurant has already opened and offers a selection of sophisticated dishes that embody both tradition and modernity.
Rooftop Restaurant & Bar LAZULI: A unique view of the skyline
The rooftop restaurant & Bar LAZULI will open its doors in April 2025. With its maritime design concept, LAZULI clearly stands out from the urban concrete jungle in the neighbourhood. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide a breathtaking view of the Frankfurt skyline and create an ambience reminiscent of a cruise ship terrace. The atmosphere is both glamorous and playful, with pastel colours, unusual tiles and a ceiling wallpaper designed by Tom Bartlett himself. The highlight of the restaurant is the bright blue lapis lazuli-coloured bar, which not only gives the room visual depth, but also lends its name to the & bar concept. With a creative cocktail menu, exclusive dishes and planned events, LAZULI is a top culinary spot that attracts not only design lovers, but also gourmets and rooftop fans.
A design that unites the past and the future
The renowned London architecture firm Waldo Works is responsible for the design of the Kimpton Main Frankfurt. The studio has created a modern interpretation of the Bauhaus style while incorporating the history of the former Deutsche Bank site. "We wanted to create a design that not only honours the history, but also conveys a positive, future-oriented message," explains Tom Bartlett, founder of Waldo Works. The clear design language of the Bauhaus style is complemented by contemporary elements and a warm colour palette that combines elegance and accessibility.
The Kimpton Main Frankfurt in the context of the FOUR Frankfurt Quarter
The Kimpton Main Frankfurt is part of the FOUR Frankfurt Quarter, which is being built in Frankfurt's city centre. FOUR Frankfurt is based on a sustainable urban development concept that combines living and working. Four unique high-rise buildings characterise the cityscape and change the face of the Frankfurt metropolis. In the middle of the skyline, neighbourhoods are growing that offer a modern interpretation of quality of life - sustainable, high-quality, lively and international. The Kimpton Main Frankfurt fits into this future-oriented neighbourhood as a stylish hotel and is becoming an important part of urban life in Frankfurt.
Art and design in harmony with history
In addition to its gastronomic offerings and unique design, the Kimpton Main Frankfurt is also a place of art. Under the direction of art curator Laura Bartlett, a collection was created especially for the hotel. The works not only reflect the history of the hotel, but also Frankfurt's cultural identity. The rooms feature geometric collages by artist Monika Gardyla, inspired by the Bauhaus movement, as well as 3D sculptures by former Städelschule student Ruairiadh O'Connell.
With its forward-looking design and outstanding culinary offerings, the Kimpton Main Frankfurt will not only become an exclusive retreat for guests, but also a new meeting place for design lovers, business travellers, culture enthusiasts and people from the FrankfurtRhineMain metropolitan region. As part of the FOUR Frankfurt neighbourhood, it contributes to the further shaping of Frankfurt's skyline and urban identity - and sets new standards for the future of the city.
