Living Advent Calendar: Christmas atmosphere in Frankfurt's Old Town

In the New Old Town, the Living Advent Calendar provides a festive atmosphere and a varied program until Christmas. Every day at 6 pm, various artists, craftspeople and regional celebrities will delight visitors with singing, presentations and performances. The event is organized by DomRömer GmbH in cooperation with Kulturothek Frankfurt and has already attracted numerous people to the Old Town.

Santa Claus hands out small gifts in the alleyways to the sound of trumpets, while a puppet theater entertains the little ones with exciting stories. The 40-strong Cäcilienchor choir already provided musical highlights in the open air at the opening on 1 December.

The Advent calendar also offers a colorful program over the coming days. On Friday, December 13, Harald Lange will be singing his "verstruwwelwelten Lieder" in front of the Struwwelpetermuseum. On Sunday, December 15, singer-songwriter Rainer Weisbecker will perform traditional Frankfurt songs. Another highlight will follow on Friday, December 20, when the Frankfurter Singakademie and its large choir will once again perform in the Old Town.

Those who want to learn more about the city's history and Frankfurt's crafts can look forward to exciting lectures. The Christmas Story in Hessian, which will be recited by Thomas Bäppler-Wolf, better known as Bäppi, on Thursday, December 19, is a special experience.

Until Christmas Eve, the quarter between the cathedral and Römer will be transformed into an atmospheric setting full of song, culture and Christmas spirit. A new highlight is hidden behind each evening door, which visitors can discover at domroemer.de/news/lebendiger-adventskalender-2024.
