Four days of intensive discussions, visionary idea development and strategic course-setting for the future of the property market: MIPIM 2025 in Cannes offered the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main metropolitan region an ideal platform to once again demonstrate its economic appeal. The region's joint trade fair appearance was once again one of the central points of contact for international investors, project developers and industry players this year.
Frankfurt focuses on sustainable residential construction
Special attention was paid to the diverse development opportunities offered by Frankfurt am Main and the region. "Frankfurt/RhineMain remains a vibrant economic centre that is highly attractive to investors," said Marcus Gwechenberger, Head of Planning and Housing for the City of Frankfurt. The trade fair impressively emphasised how much the location is in demand, even in challenging times. Housing construction is a key topic: "Affordable and available living space is essential for the quality of life in our city. I was able to hold constructive talks on this in Cannes and am confident that further housing projects will be realised soon."
International attention for Frankfurt's locational advantages
Bernhard Grieb, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt, also drew a positive balance: "Our trade fair appearance was once again a complete success. The Frankfurt RhineMain stand served as a central meeting point for international decision-makers. We were able to draw the attention of numerous potential investors to our location and intensify existing contacts." The partner companies that presented themselves at the stand also reported promising project approaches and valuable new business contacts.
Great interest in Frankfurt's future
The wide-ranging programme at the stand attracted numerous visitors. Topics such as the further development of Frankfurt's city centre, the creation of new living spaces and the opportunities offered by the DE-CIX internet node, which strengthens Frankfurt as a digital location, attracted particular attention.
MIPIM is regarded as the world's leading real estate trade fair. Every year, around 22,000 trade visitors from more than 90 countries gather on over 20,000 square metres of exhibition space. In 2025, Frankfurt Rhine-Main once again proved to be a sought-after location with promising prospects for the international property industry.
