The Gibson Club in Frankfurt is expanding its programme with a new event series that offers a platform for up-and-coming musicians in particular: "Sound Up - Welcome to our Stage". Every first Thursday of the month, visitors can experience young talents performing their own songs live on the club's renowned stage. The event kicks off on 3 April with US-American Julianna Townsend, an up-and-coming artist whose career has taken off rapidly in recent years.
The idea behind "Sound Up" is clear: to give a stage to artists who often no longer have the opportunity to present their work to the public. "Unfortunately, many open stages have been closed in recent years, which is why artists hardly have the opportunity to present their songs live," explains Bastian Bernhagen, Managing Partner of the Gibson Club. "With this new series of events, we want to actively offer support and create a new stage for talented musicians."
On the first Thursday of every month, the Gibson Club becomes a home for the upcoming music scene. The artists are accompanied by the Urban Club Band, which adds an extra dimension to the performances with its professional arrangements and urban sound. "Sound Up takes the live music culture at the Gibson Club to a new level. We bring different genres together and create musical synergies," continues Bernhagen. This makes "Sound Up" not only a platform for newcomers, but also a meeting place for music lovers who want to experience a piece of the musical future.
The artist who starts it all is Julianna Townsend. The singer and songwriter, who has her roots in the USA and grew up in Germany, has already celebrated great success in recent years. She became known for her performances on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles and her participation in major festivals such as the Reeperbahn Festival. Townsend, who has been a finalist on "Germany's Next Top Model" in the past, has made a name for herself with her unique blend of R&B, hip-hop and pop music. Her songs, which are characterised by catchy melodies and powerful beats, appeal to an international fan base. "I'm really looking forward to opening the new concert series at the Gibson," says the artist full of anticipation.
The "Sound Up" series starts at 10 pm, with admission from 9 pm. Admission is 12 euros.
