The bookstore chain Thalia is expanding into Frankfurt city center and will open a new flagship store on the busy Zeil shopping street in 2026. The new store will be part of the ONE TWO ONE building complex under construction on the corner of Zeil and Liebfrauenstraße and will offer around 2,500 square meters of retail space on two floors.
"We have been asked time and again why Thalia has not been available in Frankfurt city centre until now. With this location, we are now closing a gap in the region," explained Michael Wetzel, Sales Director at Thalia.
The handover of the retail space is planned for the first half of 2026, followed by the construction phase. The new store is scheduled to open in summer 2026.
Thalia is currently represented in the region with stores in the NordWestZentrum, the Main-Taunus-Zentrum in Sulzbach and in Hanau and Offenbach. As an economically strong metropolis with high purchasing power, Frankfurt is a particularly attractive location for the company.
With the new bookstore, Thalia is strengthening its presence in Hesse and continuing to focus on the concept of large, modern sales areas in central locations.
