What it costs again, we often think, living in this beautiful city. Everything is getting more expensive: rent, shopping, driving - so it's nice to know what's actually free to enjoy in the city. Because not everything that is fun always has to be paid for. Frankfurt has a lot of great activities and offers that you can also find in London, Paris or New York that are completely free. I took a look around for you this week and collected my favourite ideas.

"Luminale" - Frankfurt is rarely more impressive at night than when the city is artfully illuminated for the "Luminale". Everything around the impressive spectacle, which takes place for the 9th time now and where popular buildings in Frankfurt will be illuminated, <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de ffm-aktuell s ugc die-luminale-taucht-frankfurt-in-neues-licht.html _blank>you can read here. I am already totally excited and looking forward to watching it. I'm sure many will be out with cameras and tripods again! Maybe I'll see you around??

Exhibition at DZ Bank "Photography and Psychology". With these works, the bank celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of its art department in the ART Foyer. By the way, parents take note: Free admission is available at many different Frankfurt museums for children as well as young people up to the age of 18.

Frankfurt's most impressive skyscraper at the moment? The European Central Bank in the Ostend, beautifully located directly on the Main, can be visited for free. Afterwards to the roof terrace in the "Oosten" for a currant spritzer. Sorry, it's my favourite drink there ;-)

The roof terrace of the "Kaufhof" at the Hauptwache in the city centre for a breathtaking view of the skyline. My out-of-town visitors are always crazy about it!

Skyline views at their finest are also offered by two of the many bridges: the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) on Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse and the new Honsell Bridge in Ostend. The skyline is sometimes so beautiful that it takes my breath away.

Fit outdoors: On the Bornheimer Hang or in the Nordweststadt, equipment specially designed for seniors invites you to exercise. Reward: the wonderful view. Sport for all is offered by numerous "calisthentics parks", where people train using only their own body weight.

Meditation in the middle of the city: the Capuchin monastery at the Liebfrauenkirche offers inner reflection. My absolute favorite place in the city when it all gets too hectic for me and I need instant quiet fast. Always works.

Fancy the WorldWideWeb and networking? Opportunity abounds at Webmontag, held several times a year. <link https: wmfra.de _blank>You can find the dates HERE

Hidden Frankfurt: Besides the glamour of the skyscrapers, Alt-Sachsenhausen offers, contrary to its reputation, not only permanent party, but above all half-timbered idyll at its best. The so-called "Kuhhirtenturm" (cowherd's tower) from the 14th century is within easy walking distance of the centre. Built in the Gothic architectural style, the old fortified tower served as a gatehouse for a long time.
