Udon, Om and Co.: three Asian moments in Frankfurt

Up and down, the prices on the Chinese stock exchange tumble. And so, while the big country is providing plenty of tinder in the blood pressure, we prefer to look at the Asian places in Frankfurt that cater for body and soul: gardens to relax in, new bistros on Sandweg or delicious ramen places in Ostend. When we're stressed out and need to relax after work, there's nothing better than finding peace and quiet in the Korean Garden in the Westend. It has been proven that just a few minutes in everyday life are enough to pause for a moment and recharge our batteries.

The 4,800 square metre Korean Garden in Grüneburgpark was created as part of South Korea's Guest of Honour presentation at the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair and is a gift to the city of Frankfurt am Main. This exotic gem is laid out in the style of traditional Korean scholars' gardens, which have served as a retreat for artists and intellectuals since the 16th century. Therefore, the garden is also intended to be a refuge for Frankfurt residents to rest and meditate.

In addition to two impressive pavilions built from Korean material, there are still two square ponds with round islands. Here, each design element has a high symbolic content and corresponds to Far Eastern philosophies. This also applies to the choice of plants, for example pine, bamboo and the plum tree are symbols of long life.

Long life, however, also requires food intake: I was happily surprised that "Ramen" also offers Dim Sum in addition to my personal favourite noodle Udon. For a longer overview of selected Japanese restaurants, exclusively recommended by my Japanese friends, please click <link http: so-nur-in-frankfurt.blogspot.de best-sushi-in-town.html _blank>here. Although no yoga, but Tibetan specialties can be found in Bockenheim very close to the Grüneburgpark. The family business has the wish to build up a piece of home for itself here and also to bring Tibet and the Tibetan food culture a bit closer to the people, by whom the owners feel so kindly received. A visit here promises not only a delicious meal, but also an intercultural experience in the best sense of the word! Another restaurant will be opening soon in Sandweg. Refreshed in body and mind, we then turn back to the turbulence of everyday life and think of the motto: "Before isch mich uffreeesche isses mir lieber egal". Have a nice weekend!
