Jasmin (Luise Heyer) has planned everything exactly: Although most of her friends have canceled because of parental obligations, the JGA for Helena (Julia Hartmann) should be perfect: After a night of drinking, she and Gina (Taneshia Abt) and Anna (Teresa Rizos) are supposed to go to Ibiza for a surprise party weekend. But it doesn't come to that, because Helena is pregnant and leaves her three friends out in the cold. But the three single ladies don't want to let that get them down: they travel to Ibiza alone to celebrate a brilliant JGA without the bride. It's just too bad that everything that can go wrong goes wrong shortly after their arrival. And then they also meet Tim (Dimitrij Schaad), Jasmin's ex, who is also celebrating his bachelor party here - and a big emotional disaster is already brewing...
With "JGA: Jasmin. Gina. Anna." Alireza Golafshan presents the follow-up to his surprise hit "The Goldfish". Once again he manages to assemble a quite likeable ensemble in front of the camera. And there are again some very funny dialogues and successful situation comedy. But in contrast to the predecessor 'unfortunately outweigh here the moments in which the humor is very flat or just does not ignite. In addition, there are scenes, such as a very unpleasant strip insert, which are initially still quite funny, but ultimately too much strain and thus in the end simply can not even cause a tired smile.
With almost two hours, the comedy is also simply too long. If the pace here and there would have been tightened a bit and some gags would have been reduced to the essentials, the whole thing might have worked better. In any case, it's not the fault of the ensemble. Especially the three leading actresses fill their characters with a lot of wit and charm, with Teresa Rizos in particular as the slightly crazy Anna providing the funniest moments. Among the male actors, Axel Stein as a petty thrift store clerk provides The most amusing scene, when he experiences his first supposed drug rush.
"JGA: Jasmin. Gina. Anna." is an unfortunately arg unbalanced mixture of delightful humor and flat gags, of original ideas and bland clichés. If you can overlook minor lengths and just want to have a little fun, this bachelorette party could definitely work for you. But if you expect a bit more after "The Goldfishes", you might be disappointed at some points. All in all, only with deductions: worth seeing!
