Film: Mika (Hanna Binke) used her skills to save the Kaltenbach estate from her grandma (Cornelia Froboess) and now lives here with her beloved horse Ostwind. To keep the farm running, Mika must use her skills as a "horse whisperer" to help stressed-out horse owners who don't understand that it's not the horses who have a problem, but they themselves. Mika is bored and sad - partly because she realizes that Ostwind is unhappy. When she keeps seeing a mysterious symbol in her dreams, which she then also discovers on Ostwind, Mika sets out to find clues. This leads her to Andalusia in the south of Spain. Here there is said to be the legendary place of Ora, where there are still real wild horses - around the spring of Ora, where the silver thistle also grows. Mika sets off to Spain to find this place - Ostwind's home. It will be an adventurous journey, during which Mika will make new friends, but which will end up putting her love for Ostwind to a severe test.
Ostwind - Aufbruch nach Ora is a worthy conclusion to the trilogy about Mika and her beloved horse Ostwind. Director Katja von Garnier offers fans exactly what they want to see and then spices it up with some exotic spice by moving the action to Andalusia. Beautiful landscape shots, romantic horse pictures, a rousing soundtrack and at the end even a guest appearance by YouTube star Dagi Bee - the target audience is really well served here.
And for just these young viewers, the really beautiful finale will also work perfectly. Without wanting to give too much away, it may be said. A few tears are guaranteed, but in the end you will be reconciled for it. Surely, all this is not much more than a WENDY-booklet turned into a movie without any big dramaturgical surprises, profound dialogues or really great acting. But as what the film wants to be, it works perfectly.
Here, it's not about pleasing the critics, but the fans. And that's where Katja von Garnier and her leading lady Hanna Binke absolutely deliver. Whether that was really it with Mika and the horses, that remains to be seen - because with over 1 million viewers, part 3 was again a complete success, which actually cries out for more. But for now, Ostwind - Aufbruch nach Ora is a worthy conclusion to a good film series that has simply made many girls happy in particular. And for that then there is also a deserved: worth seeing!
Picture + Sound: Since only a screener was available for the test, no rating can be given here about the final picture and sound quality.
Extras: Bonus material could not be sighted on the screener either. The purchase DVD has a few short featurettes about the story, a behind the scenes look, a set tour with Lea and about the premiere to offer. There are also interviews and the trailer. The Blu-ray also has another set tour with Marvin, a look at a day on the set, as well as a music video on offer.
Conclusion: Ostwind - Aufbruch nach Ora is a successful conclusion to the popular series, which once again offers its fans everything that has made Ostwind so popular and successful. At the end, some very loyal fans are sure to shed a few tears. If you already liked the first two parts, you can safely grab this disc. Recommendable
