During the Kultursommer, the Rüsselsheim vintner friends and the "WINEcrew" around the married couple Silke and Ralf Förster will host a Wine Festival from Friday 1. July to Sunday 3 July for the first time a wine festival in the Verna Park organize.
"I'm glad that the Hessentag 2017 with the wine village in the Verna Park was an impulse for this idea. Already this summer, there is a foretaste of the coming year, so to speak", says mayor Patrick Burghardt. Mayor Dennis Grieser sees the festival as an excellent addition to the Cultural Summer. He says: "One of the aims of the series of events is to showcase Rüsselsheim's cultural diversity at a variety of venues. The diversity will be reflected in an extensive stage and action programme, which the people of Rüsselsheim can look forward to. The Verna Park offers an absolutely fitting backdrop for this."
According to him, the festival will also remind out-of-towners that the Riesling grape variety was ultimately mentioned in a worldwide document for the first time in Rüsselsheim.
