The romantic and at the same time historical atmosphere at Lindenfels Castle offers again in 2015 a wonderful backdrop for a wonderful opera evening. On Friday, 03.07.2015 and Saturday, 04.07.2015, at 20.00, you can look forward to Verdi's global success "Nabucco" in a classically staged performance. Under the proven direction of Michael Vaccaro, the performance features well-known international soloists, a large opera choir and a renowned orchestra.
The masterpiece, premiered in 1842 with overwhelming success, also established the beginning of Giuseppe Verdi's triumphant career. In particular, the Prisoners' Chorus in Act 3 has been called the composer's most famous choral work. "Va, pensiero, sull'ali dorate" (Fly thought, on golden wings), thus resounds the cry of freedom of the captive Hebrews. In Italy this chorus almost became the national anthem and "Nabucco" has lost none of its relevance to the present day as the great freedom opera.
Opera lovers should not miss this impressive musical spectacle with outstanding international vocal soloists, large opera choir and the orchestra of the National Theatre Constanta. Well over 150 performers, historical costumes and atmospheric lighting guarantee an unforgettable evening. Especially the "prisoners choir" will certainly make a name for itself, since in the meantime not only the choirs of Lindenfels, but also many choirs of the surrounding area (e.g. from Kolmbach, Seidenbuch, Winterkasten, Beerfurth and Gumpen) have rehearsed this famous piece in Italian and will participate on stage as imprisoned Hebrews together with the great opera choir.
The Lindenfels Hotel and Restaurant Association will again offer flanking culinary delights at the "Klassik & Kulinarisches" campaign at its establishments.
For the opera performance "Nabucco" on July 03 and 04, 2015 at Lindenfels Castle, a bus trip from the surrounding metropolitan areas to Lindenfels will again be offered in cooperation with Omnibusreisen Schmidt. The trip in a modern coach includes the ticket of the desired category, a 3-course classic menu from 18.00 and a welcome champagne to get in the mood.
