When the brothers Alexander and Constantin von Bienenstamm, who were born and raised in Hong Kong, came to Germany, they found that the local Asian gastronomy had so little to do with the varied, exciting cuisine of Southeast Asia that they had loved so much in their old homeland. And so the idea was quickly born to bring the exciting mix of tradition and modernity found in Hong Kong's street kitchens to Frankfurt. In 2005, they opened their first restaurant on Schillerstraße. With great success. Since then, the concept, which was revamped in 2015, has expanded into a franchise with five branches in Frankfurt alone (actually six, if you count the one in MTZ Sulzbach), as well as others in Berlin, Darmstadt, Essen, Hamburg, Stuttgart and even Prague.
Even though each coa restaurant has its own flavor, which becomes clear during visits to the branches at the Hauptbahnhof, Skyline Plaza and MyZeil, for example, they all have one thing in common: delicious food made from fresh ingredients. For the small appetite, the finger food mix (from 2 persons) is absolutely recommendable, as it offers the opportunity to try several delicacies at once, such as the chicken sat<x>Ampersand</x>eacute; skewers or crispy prawns. The Pho Bo, a Vietnamese noodle soup, is equally delicious as the spicy glass noodle salad.
The summer rolls, which come in three different varieties, are also particularly popular. When it comes to wok dishes, we can warmly recommend the Szechuan beef fillet strips with peppers, French beans, cashews and a really tasty soy sauce. Simply delicious. We recommend the homemade iced tea to go with it. A little sweet, but very refreshing.
It is not a matter of course that a chain can convince with freshness and quality. But at coa, that is undoubtedly the case. So if you want to give Southeast Asian cuisine a chance, you have the opportunity to do so at several locations in Frankfurt.
