Jordan Olive Oil

Category: More

The olives for the Jordan Olive Oil come exclusively from our own cultivation and from families from the mountainous region of the island of Lesbos. They are cold pressed and processed in a natural way. Possible clouding, or a possible sediment are characteristics of this natural processing. The valuable Jordan olive oil receives its special aroma and the unique taste.

Why is olive oil healthy?

extra virgin olive oil contains particularly high levels of vitamin E and many so-called polyphenols. Polyphenols belong to the bioactive substances in plants. Among other things, they have an anti-inflammatory and cancer-preventive effect, protect body cells from free radicals and slow down cell oxidation.

They reduce fat deposits (plaques) in the blood vessels and thus prevent arteriosclerosis and ultimately a heart attack.

Also olive oil contains an active ingredient called oleocanthal.
This has an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect.

Oleocanthal is similar to the active ingredient ibuprofen. 50 grams of extra virgin olive oil has therefore been shown to act like 10% of a standard recommended dose of ibuprofen for an adult.

Also found in "extra virgin olive oil" is the hydrocarbon squalene, which is thought to reduce the risk of breast cancer, among other things.

The so-called sterols are a group of biochemically important natural substances. They counteract cancers of the prostate, colon, breast and stomach and lower cholesterol levels. Natives olive oil extra diminishes therefore the "böse" LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) and increases the "gute" HDL (High Density Lipoprotein). LDL transports cholesterol into the body, which is then deposited on the walls of the blood vessels. HDL, on the other hand, dissolves this cholesterol from the walls of the blood vessels and transports it away
