French cuisine at its best
Don't you sometimes just want to escape from the daily grind and treat yourself to a relaxing vacation. A soothing time out that just makes you happy? Admittedly, simply taking a spontaneous short holiday is out of the question for most people. But sometimes a short trip is enough to immerse yourself in another world and recharge your batteries. One such place is the Fleur de Sel restaurant in Maintal. Here, the Theumer family not only spoils its guests with exquisite cuisine that combines regional ingredients with French and Mediterranean influences. Also with a coherent ambience it is ensured that one feels here like on a short holiday in the South of France - and that in the middle of the Rhine-Main area.
It is the declared goal of the family that people simply feel good in their restaurant and can enjoy here with all senses. The fact that this works so well is partly due to the Theumers' close ties to France and its cuisine. The mother of managing director and chef Patrick Theumer is French and his sister Christine ran the restaurant "Au Vieux Four" in Gourdon/France for four years. So it's no wonder that there's a French joie de vivre here that feels infectiously authentic.
On the other hand, the French restaurant is also such a wonderful place to indulge because of Patrick Theumer's gourmet creations. Theumer's gastronomic roots are in Frankfurt, where he trained as a chef at the 5-star "Arabella Grandhotel" after starting at the Michelin-starred "Brick" at the Main Plaza. Before he moved to the family restaurant, he worked in various starred establishments. The high quality standards that the passionate gastronome learned there, he has of course brought with him to Fleur de Sel.
On the monthly changing menu, which is created according to the seasonal offer, you will find versatile French dishes that make your mouth water just by reading the ingredients. The guest is not overwhelmed by a mass of choices, but is presented with a clear offer, which, due to its versatility, offers the right dish for every taste. In addition to refined starters and soups, there are creative fish and meat dishes, as well as vegetarian delicacies. Desserts, with which one only too gladly sins, may not be missing naturally just like corresponding wines from France and Germany. And for the little guests there is of course a separate card with delicacies that make children's eyes shine.
This is quality that inspires. A restaurant that also sets high quality, but has not lost the family charm. For this there was the Gastronomiepreis Hessen in 2013, in 2017 the "Certificate of Excellence" from TripAdvisor and in 2018 followed with a fabulous 49 out of 50 points also the well-deserved victory in the Kabel Eins program "Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal". If you would like to join this enthusiasm and treat yourself to a short culinary holiday, then you should definitely pay a visit to the Fleur de Sel restaurant.
The numerous special events that are offered throughout the year in the restaurant are also very good for this. Highlights in 2019 include the Tasting Menus "Summertime" (June 19, 2019) and "Autumn Awakening" (October 02, 2019). Timely booking is recommended here!
