Simit Café - Turkish treats in the Bahnhofsviertel

Simit Café - Turkish treats in the Bahnhofsviertel

Category: Cafes & Bistros

In 2012, the first German branch of a Turkish franchise chain opened in the Bahnhofsviertel. In January 2016, however, Mesut Göcmen broke away from the strict templates that come with running a franchise branch and has since been independently running the Simit Café. Here you can find - the name already gives it away - traditional Turkish pastries like Simit (sesame ring made of yeast dough) or Börek with different tasty fillings. But that's not all, of course. Because true to the motto "the best of Orient and Occident", the menu of the Simit Café offers real variety. Delicious breakfast variations, wraps, sandwiches and also main dishes like Turkish lentil soup, noodles with olive & tuna or salads are offered here.

The ambience seems functional, but still exudes a certain cosiness. On a sunny day, the back outdoor terrace is especially worthwhile, located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Kaiserstraße. During our visit we were served very friendly and well advised. Both the sandwiched simits and the Chicken & Cheese Sandwich were really delicious, and the Turkish tea and delicious little pastries we had for dessert tasted fresh and not too sweet. Everything we tried tasted light while being quite filling.

So, if you want to enjoy a rich, but not too heavy breakfast in the station district or want to eat a tasty snack for in between in a pleasant atmosphere, the Simit Café is the right place.

Address: Kaiserstrasse 44, 60329 Frankfurt am Main
