Update: Unfortunately, the Hans Hendrix has since closed
What do you think would have happened if Hans Albers and Jimmy Hendrix had shared a kitchen? The answer has been available for some time now at the beautiful restaurant HANS HENDRIX by Greg de Neufville, who previously ran the popular WOLFGANG`S. In his new location in Frankfurt's Nordend, the musician and restaurateur wants to offer "German Rock`n`Roll Cuisine". The mixing of different influences is supposed to give the classics on the menu a bit of a new lease of life. And that works splendidly. But first to the location: Here you really feel at home very quickly. The brick walls, the lovingly arranged interior and the unobtrusive lighting create an extremely cozy atmosphere.
In addition, there is a very nice and attentive service, which also makes a visit to HANS HENDRIX a very pleasant experience. So ambience and service are already right. But what about the food? Here, too, we can only find words of praise after our visit. After tickling our taste buds with delicious chickpea balls, we decided on burgers as our main course. More specifically, the Hansburger Frankfurt with frankfurter relish and salad, and the Hendrixburger with homemade BBQ sauce, bacon, fried egg, roasted onions and salad. The buns have a good texture and flavor of their own, which some other burger buns often lack. The Angus beef is very well seasoned and the BBQ sauce or frankfurter relish is also very tasty. The portion is a good size: you get full, but you are not over-satiated.
If you don't fancy burgers, there are plenty of other delicacies on the menu to choose from, such as Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes, chicken breast in a bacon coat with chilli apple compote, char filet with green sauce, barbecued spare ribs with house-style sauerkraut and Frankfurter Gravy or NY style pastrami sandwich. And even for "little rockers" there is something to discover on the menu. Nobody really goes home hungry here.
So it is fair to say that the mix is really right here: The location, the service and the culinary concept really convinced us. Therefore we can only recommend you: Try it out for yourself and pay HANS HENDRIX a visit!
