The Harvey`s - For breakfast with Elton John and Hape Kerkeling

Category: Restaurants

They are called "Rosa von Praunheim", "Dirk Bach", Hella von Sinnen" or "Elton John" - the names of the breakfast offerings alone show that Harvey`s is a special place in Frankfurt`s Nordend. But it is not only the names on the menu or the very special atmosphere created by the interior that makes this place special. Rather, it is the quality of the food and drinks on offer - whether for breakfast or in the evening - that has spread throughout Frankfurt over the years and made Harvey`s what is often referred to as a "scene pub".

Named after Harvey Milk, one of the most important figures of the American homosexual movement, the pub is by no means geared towards the city`s gay scene. Rather, you'll find a very diverse crowd here for a hearty breakfast, a relaxed afternoon coffee, or a happy after-work drink and delicious food.

Versatility and quality are already written large at breakfast. Dirk Bach" helps against the small hunger with croissant, rolls, jam and Nutella. Hella von Sinnen" is a bit richer with fruit, vegetable sticks, herb curd, muesli and wholemeal bread. If you like it hearty, turn to "Elton John", who offers sausages, beans, organic fried eggs with bacon and cheese to satisfy your hunger. The omelettes are also very tasty, for example with tomato and basil or as a farmer's omelette with fried potatoes. To finish off breakfast or for a midday coffee, it's definitely worth ordering the Brussels vanilla waffles - simply delicious!

But even after breakfast, Harvey`s is worth a visit. The drinks menu is huge and offers a good selection of hot and cold drinks, wines, cocktails or long drinks. The menu offers smaller dishes like Harvey`s Curry-Worscht, Green Sauce or the delicious Club-Sandwich, as well as various salads, tarte flambée, burgers, schnitzel or rump steak. Nobody really has to go home hungry here.

The coherent ambience, the cordial service and the good quality of drinks and food are decisive factors for the success of Harvey`s. And since word has spread far beyond the borders of the Nordend, it is advisable to book in advance, especially at weekends.
