Get to the stove: TV chef Mirko Reeh gives free children's cooking classes at Sunday brunch

Once a month, the TV chef teaches children how to cook at the Torschänke.

The Sunday brunch at the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt is always a big highlight. It is also popular with children. To make it even more fun for them in the future, the five-star hotel is offering its little guests a very special deal once a month: While the parents enjoy the delicacies of the Sunday brunch, the children can try their hand at cooking with TV chef Mirko Reeh in the Torschänke and learn all kinds of exciting things about food and cooking. It starts on 14 February.

The Sunday cooking classes with Mirko Reeh are each dedicated to a special topic. On the first date on 14 February, it's all about Italian winter cuisine; the children cook simple dishes that keep you warm inside in cold weather. Of course, pasta is also on the agenda. "Pasta Pasta" is the name of the game on April 24, when the little chefs will make pasta themselves and prepare various quick sauces. In the summer, Mirko Reeh shows the children how to grill properly, another date introduces them to vegetarian dishes, and at "Sushi for Kids" they can also try their hand at more unusual dishes. A highlight is the festive menu at Christmas time, which is designed so that the little ones can easily recreate it at home.

"Cooking together is a great experience for children," says Mirko Reeh. "It awakens their drive, their curiosity and makes them proud of the achievement they have made. I think it's important that children get a feel for food and know what their food is made of and how to prepare it. This gives them a completely different approach to the subject of food."

The cooking classes with Mirko Reeh are suitable for children aged six and over. All children who come to Sunday brunch with their parents can take part. The cooking is then free and takes place parallel to the brunch from 12:00 to 15:00 in the Torschänke. Of course, the kids can try out their home-cooked meals at the restaurant as well.
