2013, the World Cider Day was brought to life. Because there is cider not only in Hesse and other German states, but as "Cider" also in English-speaking countries, as "Cidre" in France and here especially in Normandy. It is known as "sidra" in Spain and Portugal, as "vino de mele" or "sidro" in Italy, and as "pínggu?ji?" even in China.
With home, people associate a pleasant feeling. Hardly any other word arouses so much emotion: when it comes to home, everyone puts their heart and soul into it. People in and around Hesse love their traditional drink. And the emotional bond is one of the main cross-national elements when it comes to the topic of cider.
With the World Cider Day, the association members want to reach out to all cider nations and offer them, as equal partners, an international platform where they can cultivate their specialties on the one hand, but also create a worldwide network from which joint actions and a unified international communication platform around the World Day will emerge.
For the first World Cider Day, the Hessian wine pressers, restaurateurs and cider fans have come up with quite a few things around their national drink. Guided tours through the wine press houses, free tastings of cider varieties and new products, 2 for 1 offers in cider pubs or in the beverage market, a meeting of non-commercial wine pressers - the range of actions is diverse and sympathetic.
Preliminary communication center for the new festival and holiday is the page "World Cider Day" on Facebook (<link http: www.facebook.com welt.apfelwein.tag _blank>

). Here, Stöffche lovers can find all relevant information and dates. So, if you don't want to miss anything, you should quickly become a fan of the Facebook page. At the same time, the cider association calls on every Stöffche lover to take photos and videos of very personal cider experiences and to send them to the association. These will then be published on the Facebook page or on the website.Target: In 2014, the websites www.weltapfelweintag.de and www.worldciderday.com, respectively, are to go online. On these sites, all cider nations will network to celebrate cider worldwide, organize new cross-national actions, and network. In the respective national languages, national as well as international specialties, commonalities, dates, news, practical tips for consumers, cider recipes and everything else around cider will be communicated
