After a tiring day at work and the no less tiring way home in the crowded subway, I like to retreat for a few relaxing minutes to the "Garden of Heavenly Peace" in Bethmannpark. Although it's right on the busy Friedberger, you can almost completely block out the hustle and bustle of the big city in this Chinese garden. My favorite place is the small waterfall. Sitting here in the small alcove and listening to the sound of the water, you really quickly come to rest.
But as soon as it's a little warmer, I also like to sit in the gazebo overlooking the pond. Reading a good book here or just enjoying the view and watching other visitors to the garden is just lovely. I'm always in a good mood here even after really annoying days.
After visiting the garden, I often stroll through the Bethmannpark, which is a real oasis, especially in summer, and is in no way inferior to the big parks. My tip for all who want to escape the stress of everyday life: Head to the Nordend and pay the Chinese Garden a visit
