International trade fair brings together experts and producers in the Palmengarten
When Frankfurt once again becomes the international stronghold of cider on 25 and 26 April 2025, trade visitors and lovers of the traditional beverage are sure to get their money's worth. Cider World, the world's leading trade fair for the industry, will make the Palmengarten's Gesellschaftshaus a meeting place for producers, retailers and connoisseurs for the 17th time. Over 97 exhibitors from more than 15 countries are expected - including a British winery for the first time since Brexit.
The diversity of the nations represented shows the international significance of the trade fair: In addition to Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia, Finnish producers will also be presenting their products. "We are delighted to welcome a large number of new participants and that we can once again welcome a country with a long cider tradition, the United Kingdom," says Michael Stöckl, Managing Director of Cider World.
Guest of Honour Styria focuses on quality and innovation
This year, Styria will be represented as the Guest of Honour. The Austrian region, known for its outstanding apple culture, will be presenting its certified ciders and musts. It is focussing on young, innovative companies such as Brunner Most, Genussmosthof Veitlbauer and Kühbrein Most, whose products have already been awarded the "Best of Category" prize at the Cider World Awards several times. "With its STM® Steirermost quality seal, Styria has a globally unique certification that guarantees the highest standards of quality and sustainability," explains co-organiser Christine Isensee-Kiesau.
Cider World Forum: Focus on expertise and innovation
New to the supporting programme is the Cider World Forum, which will take place on 25 April in the Astor Film Lounge. Three keynote speeches will highlight current trends and developments in the industry. The forum will directly follow the Cider World Awards ceremony, which is being organised in collaboration with Hochschule Geisenheim University. The submitted ciders will be scientifically analysed before an international jury of experts awards prizes to the best products.
The preview tasting will take place in the morning, where trade visitors and consumers can taste the nominated ciders. "With this event, we are not only giving producers a platform, but also creating an exclusive experience for cider lovers," says Isensee-Kiesau.
Cider World Expo: meeting place for trade visitors and connoisseurs
The Expo itself starts on 26 April at 12 noon for trade visitors and opens its doors to the general public at 2 pm. In addition to tastings, the trade fair offers a varied supporting programme: the popular master class with "The Ciderologist" Gabe Cook will this time focus on the "Best of Cider World Award". The FrankfurtRhineMain Regional Association will also be providing information about sustainability and the preservation of the cultural landscape of orchards.
A special highlight is the American Cider Association's training programme, which is being offered in Europe for the first time. Interested parties can train to become a "Certified Cider Guide" or even a "Certified Pommelier".
Cider World 2025 thus promises to be a worthwhile event not only for experts, but also for all those who want to discover the diversity and innovative power of the cider world.
