Schauspiel Frankfurt opens season with multi-faceted program

The Schauspiel Frankfurt opens its new season with a multi-faceted program. On September 21, the curtain will rise on a humorous production of Mateja Koležnik's "The Miser" by Molière, which brings the topical subject of avarice and money to the stage in a captivating way. This will be followed by the highly anticipated premiere of Virginia Woolf's "Orlando," a play that challenges seemingly immovable boundaries of gender, power and status. Beginning in October, audiences can look forward to a spectacular performance of "Dracula," with director Johanna Wehner's take on the iconic vampire character. November and December bring "Momo," a fantastic family play by Michael Ende about storytelling, friendship and courage, suitable for ages 8 and up.

In the Kammerspiele, Anja Hilling's latest production, "Mascha K. (Tourist Status)," is dedicated to the Jewish exiled lyricist Mascha Kaléko. In December then follows "Sun/Air" by Elfriede Jelinek, a multilayered and at the same time entertaining text, which deals with the climate collapse.

The Schauspiel Frankfurt is the largest spoken theater in the Rhine-Main region and enjoys nationwide recognition as an outstanding stage in Germany. Renowned directors present both classical works and contemporary drama in the four venues - Schauspielhaus, Kammerspiele, Box and Bockenheimer Depot. In addition to the impressive performances, Schauspiel Frankfurt offers space for encounters, discussions and work shows in the BOX, the Panorama Bar and the Chagallsaal. Here artists:inside get the opportunity to present themselves, while spectators:inside ask their questions and the citizens:inside of the city can enter into dialogue with each other.
