Of course, with the news that a new burger restaurant has opened in Frankfurt comes the question: Does the city need another burger joint? In principle, the question is justified, because there are already plenty of shops in Frankfurt that offer burgers - and some of them are really good, too. And yet the Frankfurt branch of the HANS IM GLÜCK Burgergrill franchise, founded by Thomas Hirschberger in Munich in 2010, can be considered an enrichment for the local gastronomic landscape. Of course, this is primarily due to the quality of the culinary offer. With that HANS IM GLÜCK could score not only in many cities in Germany, but also in Austria and even Singapore.
Next to burgers with juicy beef or tender chicken breast, the menu holds a large selection of vegetarian and vegan burger creations ready. Seven vegetarian and four vegan burgers are on the storybook-look menu. Fresh ingredients are of course the be-all and end-all. We tried the "Wild West" on our visit: juicy beef with a slice of strong hay-milk cheese, a tangy barbecue sauce and fried onions between two sourdough bun halves. We ordered a coleslaw to go with it, which far exceeded our expectations. The burger itself
But in addition to the version we tried, there are also burgers with brie and cranberries, avocado cream, brie with grilled vegetable tartare and rocket or quite fancy with roasted pear, mild gorgonzola sauce and walnuts. Of course, the classics are also on offer. But even a simple "standard" burger tastes special here thanks to the sauces made especially for HANS IM GLÜCK - especially good, of course. Those who like it can order all beef burgers with an optional pepper crust.
In addition to burgers and sides like homemade bread or fries, there are also a number of salads on the menu. Whether "Lush" (rocket, Parma ham, hard cheese, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan dressing), "Lucky Child" (mixed salad, hard cheese, mushrooms and Parmesan dressing) or "Goldkehlchen" (rocket, chicken breast, mushrooms and nut dressing) - here too there really is something for every taste. By the way, for all allergy sufferers there is an extra menu on which all ingredients and ingredients are listed so that there are no nasty surprises.
Of course, a delicious meal also needs the right drink. We can recommend the homemade iced tea "Fruit Salad Mint" - the perfect thirst quencher for hot summer days. Refreshingly fruity and simply delicious. Various non-alcoholic offers, but also numerous cocktails can be ordered here. So your palate gets its money's worth both when eating and drinking. But at HANS IM GLÜCK it is not only about the culinary aspect, but about the whole package. The guest should feel comfortable here, no matter whether he just stops by quickly during his lunch break or wants to stay here longer with friends after work.
That's why the franchise not only relies on a very special feel-good ambience, which is achieved through floor-to-ceiling, real birch trunks, furniture made of Lower Bavarian oak, wallpaper made of pressed flowers and loving furnishing details such as the fairytale fountain, birdhouse lamps or the business card pig. The service should also contribute to making the guest feel at home here. This is to be achieved with a mixture of looseness - the service staff do not wear uniforms, for example - and perfect organisation, which should guarantee a fast, uncomplicated process. And this is also a difference to many other burger restaurants: HANS IM GLÜCK is a full-service restaurant. Here you do not order at the counter, but the order is taken at the place.
Ach yes: In Frankfurt, by the way, there is a real special feature. The team around managing director Dominik Kellner has managed to get apple wine served in the Main metropolis. So you can also enjoy a glass of Old Höchstädter with your burger. So now there's really no reason at all to pay this culinary newcomer in Frankfurt a welcome visit. For most of those who love burgers, it will then definitely not remain with this one visit.
