At the foot of the new Henninger Tower, Frankfurt's first official Henninger Brauhaus has opened. Although the city has a long brewing tradition, until now there has been no true brewpub representing the traditional brand names of Frankfurt's breweries. Matthias Schönberger and Tobias Jäkel, managing directors of the Japanese noodle bar chain MoschMosch, want to use Henninger am Turm not only to honor an old tradition, but also to give it a modern impetus. Their Frankfurt brewhouse is intended to be a meeting place not only for beer lovers, but for everyone who appreciates conviviality and wants to enjoy good, down-to-earth food.
Of course, Frankfurt's brewing tradition takes center stage. The menu includes the classic Henninger Kaiser Pilsner as well as other beer specialties - both with and without alcohol, freshly tapped from the barrel or from the bottle. Wines, cider, various spirits, long drinks and non-alcoholic beverages can also be ordered.
In addition, there is a food offering that friends of traditional brewery specialties and typical Frankfurt cuisine will be pleased about. In a really appealing atmosphere, various soups and crisp salads, but also heartier dishes such as Frankfurter Schnitzel, cured pork knuckle or the Braumeister Pfanne, consisting of roast meat, minced meat, green beans, fried egg and fried potatoes, can be consumed. If you are not really hungry, we recommend the very tasty Brauhaus Brotzeitplatte. On it you will find Sachsenhäuser Schneegestöber, Handkäs, boiled eggs, green sauce, Blochbachtaler Bauernsalami, raw and cooked ham, pickles, butter, bread and pretzels. Makes full and tastes damn good!
Naturally, Handkäs, Grie Sooß and Frankfurter sausages may not be missing in the offer. And the little guests have also been thought of: whether noodles with tomato sauce, children's schnitzel or simply a robber's plate - children are also guaranteed to get their fill here. As a special extra, KORNMAYERs Manufaktur has created some delicacies such as the original TURMSAUCE or the TURMSENF, which you can purchase directly on site.
The prices of the dishes are measured by the portions and the quality absolutely fair. The service was friendly and attentive during our visit, despite the busy early evening. The operators have succeeded very well in embedding original cosiness in a modern ambience. Their brewery has a traditional yet contemporary feel, so that everyone can feel at home here - whether they are from Frankfurt or guests of our beautiful city, young or old, singles or families. At the Henninger am Turm, everyone will feel at home who enjoys social gatherings and likes it culinary rather down-to-earth.
