UPDATE: Unfortunately, the market in the courtyard will no longer take place in its previous form (until further notice). We'll keep you posted
The Brückenviertel on the edge of Alt-Sachsenhausen has become a real trendy area of the city in recent years. In addition to some long-established shops like the bookstore <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de freizeit s die-wendeltreppe-ein-muss-fuer-alle-krimifans.html _blank>"Die Wendeltreppe" and various culinary offerings like Bizzi Ice or the Apfelweinkontor, creatives are increasingly settling here. The <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de freizeit s broadway-am-main-das-theater-alte-bruecke-in-sachsenhausen.html _blank>Theater Alte Brücke for example, the beautiful quilt manufactory or the unusual gallery "designe, kleine!" are a good testimony to what makes the Brückenviertel so special and so popular.
There is another reason for this since May 10, 2014: The market in the courtyard! On the site of a former beverage market, vendors from the region gather here every week to offer vegetables, cheese, meat, bread and other delicacies. The founders of Markt im Hof - Lorenzo Bizzi (Bizzi Ice), Susanne Stahl (designe, kleine!) and Michael Rühl (Apfelweinkontor) - wanted to create not only another weekly market, but also a place to linger. Here the neighbourhood should meet and exchange ideas, here friends should start the weekend together and enjoy food from food trucks like the one from Bully`s Burger, or from the food market, which offers international delicacies.
And indeed, the small market has become an absolute crowd puller in no time. Whether sandwiches from Brot Brothers, crepes and Bretons from Chez Vivi, delicious jams and chutneys from Die Genusswolke or the diverse range of products from the Apfelweinkontor - here you really only get high-quality food and specialities directly from the region. In addition, the market in the courtyard always offers a stage for cabaret and manufactories. A really beautiful, charming and in the best sense of the word neighbourly market, whose visit is a real pleasure not only for the palate.
