Wackers Kaffee - Ein Frankfurter Original seit über 100 Jahren

Wackers Kaffee - Ein Frankfurter Original seit über 100 Jahren

Category: Cafes & Bistros

No matter whether the sun is shining or it's raining, if you walk past the flagship store of Wackers Kaffee at Kornmarkt 9 at lunchtime, you'll regularly see a long line of people waiting there. Customers are only too happy to put up with the time it takes to take their coffee home or drink it freshly brewed on the spot. Because the name Wacker has always stood for quality beyond the city limits - and it's worth waiting for, even in our "to go" society.

In 1914, Luise Wacker, who was just 26 at the time, opened her own delicatessen with her own coffee roastery. After the two world wars, she continued this in 1955 with the opening of the flagship store on Kornmarkt, which still exists today and, as a tribute to Luise Wacker, has hardly changed since. Wacker is a true family brand whose tradition is carried on from generation to generation. The principle of Luise Wacker, who always saw her clientele as "Her Majesty the Customer", to whom only first-class quality could be offered, has remained to this day. And people appreciate that. The fact that the quaint flagship store in the city center, with just 80 square meters, is very small and quickly overcrowded, hardly bothers anyone. Somehow that is almost part of the real Wacker experience.

In its own roasting plant in Fechenheim, as well as in the four branches in Frankfurt, customer proximity and the high quality standard of the coffee are writ large. When it comes to the beans, great importance is attached to fair trade. When they arrive in Frankfurt, they are always roasted fresh using the traditional long-term roasting method. And you can taste that. Convince yourself and just take a look at the Kornmarkt in the main store or alternatively a little more comfortable in the largest Wackers-Café in Mittelweg, which has been serving guests in the Nordend since 1995, in the Café at the Uhrtürmchen on Bergerstraße, in the Caf&eacute, which opened in 2008 in the Riedbergzentrum; or on Glauburgstraße. And you'll soon realise why Wacker Kaffee is a true Frankfurt original that we wouldn't want to miss.
