10 years of Eintracht Museum

Mayor Uwe Becker congratulates the Eintracht Museum on its tenth anniversary

(kus) Many hearts beat faster here, but tears have also been shed and some have been able to fulfil their dreams here. On Tuesday, November 28, the Eintracht Museum celebrates its tenth anniversary. On this occasion, mayor and Eintracht fan Uwe Becker warmly congratulates museum director Matthias Thoma. The museum with its more than 400 square metres of exhibition space is unique and a true institution for Frankfurt sports fans.

"Just exhibiting trophies would be boring after all. With the Eintracht Museum, Matthias Thoma has created a place where fans can learn many stories and anecdotes about the club. That's what gives the museum its character and makes it a place of identification for sports enthusiasts," says Becker.

In addition to Eintracht's sporting history, the trophies of the professional footballers are of course also on display. On special tours, visitors can also hold the 1959 championship trophy in their hands. This causes both excitement and sometimes tears of joy among the die-hard football fans. They also have hope that the trophy will be replenished soon. Statistically, Eintracht has always been champion in the season in which Italy did not qualify for the World Cup.

"Even if the theory is daring, I support it as an avid Eintracht fan. There would certainly be room for the championship trophy in the Eintracht museum. But whether it's a cup, a plastic cup or a garden chair - in the end, the exhibits that have been brought together are all highlights of Frankfurt's sporting history, alongside the museum's extensive programme," says Becker. "Preserving and conveying this history as part of Frankfurt's city history is a valuable contribution to the club as well as the city and the Eintracht Museum succeeds impressively."

The Eintracht Museum in the Commerzbank Arena can be visited on match days or for special events and guided tours. The museum focuses on football, but all other Eintracht Frankfurt sports are also included
